Arctic Monkeys started of earlier and thus had more limited resources to work with whilst BLACKPINK gained early popularity due to the spread of korean cultural influence thus making them a big name very quickly

Arctic Monkeys are signed to the independent record label Domino Recording company. Their 2006 debut album, Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not, sold 363,735 copies in its first week, becoming the fastest-selling debut album in UK chart history at the time. They chose an independent label to maintain creativity 

5) Looking at the wider music industry, has the internet been a positive or negative development for record companies and artists? Why?

Over the years due to social media upcoming artists were able to freely produce music helping them built a career thus it is because of social media that many beloved artist are able to do what they do and without it the music industry would be alot more different and more closed off to new music artists trying to join the industry
