Connotations & Denotations

In the advert water aid we see a child that looks sad he stands in front of what looks to be a house and is looking at the camera with an intense look of sadness with tears forming in his eyes this connotates how he feels upset and how much he needs water along with that he represents the millions of people who are in need of water making us not just feel sad for him but for the millions of people who are in need. To add to this the words "Dig toilets Not graves" connotates the idea of instead of people doing nothing and letting them dying and digging graves, people should help get them clean water instead thus encouraging us to help and assist in this cause. Along with that the word grave can connote the idea of death thus giving us this idea of death and urgency to help fix this issue. And the words also connote the idea of doing one thing can prevent another as such "Dig toilets" basically is stating that we must provide these people with water and basic necessities that come with it to prevent death within such poor places.
